Activities and characteristics of instructional school leadership from the perspective of elementary school principals

This paper shows results of an empirical study on characteristics instructional school leadership conducted the sample 30 Croatian elementary principals. Two research questions were asked: 1. How principals describe and comment activities that they conduct in their schools, observing them from own role’s perspective goals want to achieve 2. experience circumstances have impact initiation implementation previously described activities. In regards set questions, qualitative interpretative approach was used. Data gathered using written interview, whereas thematic content analysis revealed two key categories: list most interactions during leadership. Variabilities several aspects observed, out which leadership’s contents outcomes focused strengthening students’ teachers’ capacities are singled as well roles principals’ relationship interaction with various subjects.
